A Moving Kit Can Make Your Move Easier

Make Your Move Easier

For those who are moving, they are going to find that the process of moving and getting their items loaded onto the truck is rather easy. When it comes time to go to a new home, and these boxes arrive from the moving company, this is when this becomes tedious. However, with a moving kit, you can make this move a bit easier.

What is a Moving Kit?

A moving kit is not an item that you are going to buy off of the shelves. It is your own personal box that you keep with you to make unpacking into your new home easier on you. It doesn't even have to be in a box. Many people have packed a suitcase with these essentials, just so they know that this does not get packed by the movers with your other belongings. Whatever you decide to put your 'moving kit' into, be sure to label this as "Do Not Load", so there are no mistakes that this ends up on the truck.

What a Moving Kit Contains

A moving kit is going to be slightly different for each person who moves, it really depends on what you are going to need. The key is to pack those items that you are going to need in your new home that you may not have access to until these boxes are unpacked. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Hand soap
  • Paper towels
  • Box cutter that can be used when your boxes arrive
  • Pet supplies if you have a pet with you
  • A towel for taking showers for each family member
  • Personal items such as shampoo, razors, toothbrushes and toothpaste
  • Your moving papers from the moving company
  • First aid kit
  • Medications that are going to be needed
  • Toilet paper
  • Garbage bags

Basically, you want to keep with you anything that you could possibly need in your new home during the time you are waiting for your belongings to arrive.

A moving kit is often not something that people consider, unless they have moved frequently. However, we have found that those who do pack these essentials avoid having to run out to buy these products at their new home, and instead can enjoy their first night in their new home.
