 Dunmar Moving Systems originally opened its doors to the public in May, 1970, in Petersburg, Virginia. The company now has locations throughout the state of Virginia. The corporate headquarters moved in May, 1999 from Deep Water Terminal Road, in Richmond, to its present location on Whitepine Road. With non-radial intrastate authority and an affiliation with Allied Van Lines, Dunmar is capable of serving local, national and international customers. Through sister companies, Dunmar has expanded its services to include records management for the business community and exhibition services for the tradeshow industry. In 1998, Dunmar created an Office & Industrial division to provide specialized moving services for businesses. The company moves both residential and commercial customers and handles military traffic from Fort Lee, Langley Air Force Base and the Norfolk Naval Supply Center. Allied Van Lines continues to recognize Dunmar as one of its top booking and hauling agents. As Dunmar matures, they are experiencing a growth in their work force of second and third generation drivers, packer, and salespeople. Some of Dunmar's owner-managers have been with them from the beginning, and most of the managers have 20 years plus of continuous service. Dunmar is proud of this record which not only produces an experienced team, but underlines their concern and care for employees.
