Load Day

  • man wrapping a chairPlease be present on loading day(s) to direct this function, or have someone present to make decisions on your behalf.
  • Please note the list of items the driver CANNOT take, and make sure all items are boxed. You can also make a “DO NOT TAKE” area in the house to place all items that are not going to be transported.
  • Lightweight clothing and soft goods may remain in drawers. Please remove any items that may be valuable, spill or break.
  • The driver will prepare an inventory of all the items to be move and list the items current condition (excluding local moves).
  • Before the driver leaves make sure he has the number where you can be reached before delivery along with the correct address for delivery.
  • Take a final walk with the driver through the home and the yard as well to make sure everything has been loaded. Check cabinets, closets, crawl spaces, attics and sheds.

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO BE SURE THE DRIVER HAS LOADED EVERYTHING YOU INTENDED TO BE MOVED BEFORE THE TRUCK LEAVES.

Servicing of Refrigerators, Waterbeds, Washers, Dryers and Grandfather Clocks

Servicing of Refrigerators:

Disconnect and clean 24 hours before loading.
Leave the door open to prevent any odors.
Make sure all water lines have been disconnected and drained before moving.

Servicing of Waterbeds:

Thoroughly drain the mattress (water left in the mattress will cause damage)
Box the mattress (improper folding will cause damage)
Disassemble the frame

Servicing of Washer:

Disconnecting the water lines and return line, then drain the remaining water from the line and the tub
Securing the drum, either by a washer lock on the top loading washer or by a loacking kit on a front load washer.
Protecting any buttons, dial or instrument pads

Servicing of Dryer:

Disconnecting the vent tube between the dryer and the home
Protecting any buttons, dial or instrument pads

Servicing of Grandfather Clock:

Removing weights, pendulums, and tubular chimes
Securing any chains, wire, or solid chimes
Locking the door and putting the key in a secure place or parts box
