How to Pack Computers and Electronics

Packing Your Computer and Electronics

Almost everyone has a computer in their home these days whether this is a slim desktop or a portable laptop. In addition, tons of other electronics need to be moved, ranging from gaming units like the new PS5, satellite boxes they are taking with them for their new home, sound systems, and the like. These are all valuable pieces of equipment that you will want to pack properly to get your new home in great condition.

Use Original Boxes if Possible

One of the best tips that we can give you is to pack computers and other electronics into these original boxes if you have the original boxes. However, if that is not possible, then you will find that boxes meant for televisions and other sturdy boxes will do. Just be sure to protect this with furniture pads or specific padding for electronics.

Use Bubble Wrap

We always suggest that you wrap sensitive electronics in bubble wrap to help them stay safe while being moved. You want to ensure that when placed into a box, nothing moves around when the box is shaken.

“Fragile” Goes on the Box

Always be sure that you mark the box holding electronics with “Fragile” …and make sure that this can be seen! This way, even more special care is taken with these boxes.

Bonus Tip: Take a picture of how these are hooked up before you pack

Save yourself a lot of time and headache when you get to your new location by taking a picture of these items while they are still hooked up. You will find that this small step can save you a lot of time when it comes to setting these up in your new home.
