Tips for a Fabulous Thanksgiving in your New Home

For those who have recently moved into a new home and this is their first Thanksgiving here, you may be wondering just what you can do in order to make this a fabulous holiday! Whether you moved in at the start of November or just a few days before Thanksgiving, here are some tips for that fabulous Thanksgiving that you crave!

The Kitchen and Dining Room Need to be Complete

For those that have recently moved into a new home, they may be taking their time with unpacking and putting things in order, which is fine. However, if you are planning on hosting Thanksgiving this year, you need to focus on getting the kitchen and the dining room completely unpacked and liveable.

Put Up Some Decor

If you truly want to make your home inviting for Thanksgiving, be sure to put up some decor that is going to help welcome everyone that comes into your home. Just a few turkeys here and there, some fall colored flowers and the like are going to make a new house feel like home, even if you have boxes in other rooms that have yet to be unpacked.

It’s All About the Food

If you are hosting Thanksgiving and you have recently moved into a new home, be sure that you are taking some time to plan the meal. You can do the larger items like Turkey, and still get some things unpacked and moved. However, ask others to bring some sides or even arrange for the meal to be catered. Don’t add more stress to yourself over this meal.

If you are hosting Thanksgiving at your new home and still need items unpacked, now could be the time to get some help if you are interested. Those family and friends that come to your home can lend a hand in getting boxes emptied out, if you are okay with their help!

From all of us here at Dunmar Moving, we want you to have a great Thanksgiving this year!
